3.What’s wrong with putting programming on existing mainstream stations?
We understand the importance of producing programmes for commission/syndication on mainstream stations and we hope that some of our programmes might also find a place on such outlets. However, it’s also become very clear to us that mainstream stations operate under conditions which restrict the freedom of religious programming. For example, managers may restrict the scope of such programming as they fear listeners switching off if certain subjects are tackled. Because of this it’s now harder than ever to get syndicated programmes on air and those that get on air are often ‘diluted’ by such restrictions. So whilst getting Christian content on other stations in important there is still a real need for a station where broadcasters can operate with freedom from such considerations.
