5.Where will the studios be based and why?
The studios will be in Stoke-on-Trent. The reason for this is that North Staffordshire has become somewhat of a hub for Christian media. UCB have been based in the area for over 15 years and it’s also the home of the UK’s first Christian FM licence Cross Rhythms City where God TV have also had a presence. Because of this wealth of Christian media activity it makes sense to base the station here and hopefully this will benefit from mutual co-operation between other organisations in the area such as the sharing of guests and collaboration on events such as concerts and exhibitions.
Furthermore, Stoke is centrally located with great road links via the M6 and A50. It has good rail links, situated on the West Coast Main Line, and is close to Manchester, Birmingham and East Midlands airports. Because of this it’s easier to source guests and programme providers from a wider area around the UK if not the world.
Stoke is also one of the cheapest places in the UK to live and work and thus makes it easier for start-up organisations like ourselves to keep costs low in our initial years.
